The Toronto Maple Leafs were looking good heading into Game 3 after splitting the first two games against the Boston Bruins 1–1. Coming back to Toronto with home-ice advantage, the Leafs had a great opportunity to put themselves in prime position for a successful Round 1. Unfortunately that did not happen.
Mere seconds after Toronto tied things up in the third period, Brad Marchand put the Bruins back up to hand the Leafs the loss. A lot of things went wrong for the home team this game, including some questionable officiating, but that’s a whole different story for another time.
