Leafs Visual Recap R1G4: Leafs drop crucial Game 4, Matthews leaves game with illness

It was a disaster of a game on multiple fronts.

With the good news that William Nylander was back on the ice for the Maple Leafs, things were looking better in a crucial game four. The Leafs desperately needed the win to even the series, otherwise the Bruines would head home with a 3-1 edge and a chance to close things out at home.

Unfortunately, it was a script that we’ve seen too many times with this core, as the Leafs struggled to score and fell to the Bruins by a 3-1 score.

The worst news, though, was that Auston Matthews left the game and didn’t play in the third period at all, a huge blow to the Leafs’ offense. Following the game, it was reported that he left due to his previous illness, so hopefully this doesn’t keep him out of the even more important game four.

Game charts are all below, read on to see it all.
