The Toronto Maple Leafs will face the Boston Bruins in a best-of-one in a winner-moves-on Game 7. After a disastrous fumble out of the gates and falling behind 3–1 in the series, Toronto pushed back in Game 5 to extend the series, and in the biggest Game 6 in the 6ix, the Leafs won to tie it all up.
William Nylander scored both Leafs goals—the first late in the second period on a seeing-eye shot that made its way through Bruins traffic, the second on a late-game breakaway to seal the victory. Joseph Woll was literally milliseconds away from a shutout win but Morgan Geekie scored with less than 0.1 seconds remaining.
