The Toronto Maple Leafs closed out the season on a bit of a skid as they went from being on a three-game winning streak to a four-game losing streak in their final seven games. In their final game of the season, the Leafs faced the Tampa Bay Lightning with virtually nothing on the line. The only thing that mattered was whether Auston Matthews would score his 70th goal.
The Leafs potted four goals but none came from Matthews, putting an end to his quest for 70.
